Carlee Mixon and Launch Credit Union earn Image Award
MERRITT ISLAND, FL (September 1, 2023) — Launch Credit Union’s Senior Digital Marketing Specialist, Carlee Mixon, recently received the Florida Public Relations Association’s Judges Award and Award of Distinction at the annual FPRA conference in Orlando. The awards are given to recognize the outstanding work by Florida’s public relations professionals.
The award honored the strategy and results from a campaign designed to increase local search and Google Reviews ratings for Launch Credit Union. Mixon saw the need to increase the overall Google ratings for Launch CU and implemented the campaign with the help of the entire employee base of the credit union.
“Reviews influence 85% of consumers in discovering a local financial institution and four out of seven search ranking factors for local Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are review related. Our online reputation was not a good representation of who we are as a company, so we developed an in-house review strategy,” said Mixon. “We have incredible staff here at Launch. We explained the importance of what we were wanting to do and challenged our employees to invite members to share their experience online through Google following a positive interaction. We have some of the best members, and they were very helpful in advancing our Google rating from a score of 2.89 to 4.25 out of 5 stars within 5 months. Today, we have a rating of 4.50/5 stars across all 15 Google verified locations. Not only did this strategy boost our local search, but it assisted with company culture as we were able to share the kudos our teams were receiving, and we gained valuable testimonials to use for marketing campaigns.”
Mixon submitted the campaign for the Space Coast Image Awards where she won a Judges’ award. She then submitted the campaign to the state FPRA Golden Image Awards where she won a Judges’ Award for outstanding entry that achieves maximum return on investment. In addition, her campaign was recognized with an Award of Distinction.
Mixon is a recent graduate of Leadership FPRA. This year-long program is designed for PR professionals to unlock their leadership potential and accelerate their careers to the next level. She also is a member of the 2023 Joe Curley Rising Leader Class. Mixon has been with Launch Credit Union for 4 years and is currently the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist.
