Champion Credit Union announces plans to expand to West Asheville
CANTON, NC (April 11, 2016) — Champion Credit Union is proud to announce their plans to open a new office in West Asheville. The new office will be opening at 1000 Patton Avenue, which was previously occupied by Wendy’s.
Champion Credit Union was founded in Canton in 1932, making them the oldest credit union in the area. In 2015, they experienced their best financial year since opening, and are only looking to improve. “While we have experienced great success, we must remain hungry to achieve more,” says President/CEO Jake Robinson. With Buncombe County being the largest county they serve, it was becoming more imperative to expand and broaden their reach.
When the Patton Avenue building presented itself as an option for a new office in the West Asheville area, the research process began immediately. Robinson and staff were very proactive with the process, eager to take advantage of the opportunity. “This is the perfect chance for us to further serve communities in Western North Carolina.”
The new office will feature state-of-the-art, secure technology, in a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. Champion Credit Union plans to utilize local contractors and vendors for the renovation process, realizing the importance of helping to stimulate the local economy. “We believe in supporting the local community,” says Robinson. “It’s because of the support from our members and the community that we are experiencing this success that is allowing us to grow.”
