Virginia Beach, VA (July 9, 2026) |
Chartway Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its new Town Center branch in Virginia Beach, Va., bringing together Chartway’s members and leaders, community leaders, and local dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located in the heart of Virginia Beach’s Town Center area, the new branch strengthens Chartway’s presence in its south Hampton Roads market and offers expanded access in one of the region’s most active and growing business and lifestyle hubs. The event featured remarks from local and regional leaders, a $5,000 donation to the Chartway Promise Foundation from Compo Construction, and the introduction of one of the foundation’s charity partners.
The new location at 224 Constitution Drive marks the next chapter of Chartway’s ongoing multi-year, multi-million-dollar branch expansion and renovation initiative across Virginia, Utah, and Texas. Designed to ensure members have convenient access to products, services, and personalized support, the Town Center branch features updated technology, improved accessibility, and inviting spaces that reflect Chartway’s people-first commitment to serving its members and communities.
"We’re proud to open this branch right in the heart of Town Center and invest in a community that continues to grow and evolve,” said Brian Schools, president & CEO of Chartway Credit Union. “What matters most is who this space serves. Our members are at the center of everything we do, and this branch allows us to meet them where they are and stay connected to the community around us.”
Local and regional leaders, including Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer and Hampton Roads Chamber President & CEO Bryan Stephens, reinforced the impact of Chartway’s investment in the Town Center area and the importance of continued partnership in supporting the city’s growth and development.
“When businesses like Chartway give their time, talent and treasure to the community, it’s recognized,” said Mayor Dyer. “This organization has a stellar reputation of doing just that, so we welcome this branch to Town Center, it enhances the already great central business district.”
“Chartway Credit Union’s continued investment in Hampton Roads is a strong vote of confidence in our region, our businesses, and the people who call this community home,” said Stephens. “This new branch expands access to trusted financial services while creating greater convenience and opportunity for residents. The Hampton Roads Chamber congratulates Chartway on this important milestone and appreciates its longstanding commitment to strengthening our region.”
The event also highlighted Chartway’s ongoing commitment to the community through the Chartway Promise Foundation, which highlighted its partnership with Horizons Hampton Roads, an organization that advances educational equity by building relationships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning. In 2025, the Foundation granted $25,000 to Horizons Hampton Roads to fund five scholarships for medically fragile children to attend summer camp this year.
During the ceremony, Compo Construction, Chartway’s general contractor for the new branch, presented a $5,000 donation to Chartway Promise Foundation’s grant program that provides meaningful experiences to the children and families it serves.
“The Chartway Promise Foundation plays an important role in our commitment to serving our communities by providing memorable experiences to medically fragile children and their families,” said Rebecca Riordan, chief people & culture officer at Chartway Credit Union and president of Chartway Promise Foundation. “The support we received today from Compo Construction helps us fulfill our commitment to partners like Horizons Hampton Roads. Together, with our partners and members, we’re able to create even more meaningful moments for children and families when they need them most.”
The ceremony concluded with an official ribbon cutting led by Chartway executives, and local and regional dignitaries followed by an open house where guests, including members, toured the new branch and connected with Chartway team members.
