Chris Gunnare, Veronica Dangerfield join Richard Myles Johnson Foundation Board

ONTARIO, CA (March 8, 2021)

PSCU Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development Chris Gunnare and Patelco Credit Union Financial Educator Veronica Dangerfield recently joined the Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation Board of Directors.

Both Gunnare and Dangerfield are replacing board members whose terms have expired. The board is responsible for the oversight and direction of the Foundation. Each board member serves a three-year term.

Gunnare joined St. Petersburg, FL-based PSCU in 2017 as SVP, Member Experience, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the credit union and payments industry. Today, he helps drive success across the Membership Development team, focusing on leading, assisting, and coaching new business sales, existing client partnerships, and renewals. Prior to PSCU, he spent 24 years leading growth and sales at TMG (now CO-OP Financial Services), where he was part of the executive team and led strategic partnerships, channel partner relationships, and overall company growth. He also has held marketing and sales roles at IBM and Unisys.

Gunnare has a B.S. in marketing from the University of Iowa. A father of two, he is committed to providing resources to educate next-generation credit union members.

Dangerfield has been with Dublin, CA-based Patelco CU for nearly 13 years. Prior to that, she worked at San Mateo Credit Union and Cal State 9 Credit Union. She is an award-winning international speaker, published poet, and professional comedienne who has won multiple awards for her national financial health education efforts, including CUNA’s Desjardins Financial Education Award. A self-described financial cheerleader, Dangerfield is a passionate advocate of changing financial health behaviors with compassionate humor. As an ambassador for Patelco CU, her financial education videos have been watched more than 150,000 times.

Dangerfield has a B.A. in communications and is a designated Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) as well as Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC).

Chaffey Federal Credit Union President and CEO Kevin Posey continues to serve as board chairman. SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Chief Administrative Officer Dana Schuller is vice chair while Delta Schools Federal Credit Union President and CEO Rob Greaff is secretary/treasurer.

The other board members are Origence (CU Direct) Vice President of Lender Client Experience Dave Adams, Educational Employees Credit Union ​President and CEO Beth Dooley, CUNA Mutual Group Sales Market Manager Donna Dyer-Bischoff, California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues President and CEO Diana Dykstra, Thinkwise Credit Union President and CEO Heri Garcia, CalCom FCU/Nikkei CU/Mattel FCU President and CEO Jon Hernandez, Downey Federal Credit Union President and CEO Ray Mesler, and CO-OP Financial Services Senior Vice President Experience Operations and Chief of Staff Sarah Szilagyi.

Founded in 1958, the RMJ Foundation is dedicated to supporting credit union efforts in spreading the financial literacy message to young people. The Foundation offers the Bite of Reality program, a hands-on simulation program that teaches the basics of finances to teenagers.
