Christian Community Credit Union employees raise $891 for breast cancer charity
SAN DIMAS, CA (October 12, 2017) — Christian Community Credit Union’s employees held their 17th annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser on Friday, October 6, 2017, raising a total of $891. Employees had the option to donate to Susan G. Komen’s Be More Than Pink™ or Lee National Denim Day® where funds support the American Cancer Society. Employees donated five dollars or more in exchange for wearing jeans, sneakers, and/or pink T-shirts to work.
Many staff had personal reasons for participating in the fundraiser. “As a breast cancer survivor myself, I know how important new methods of detection and treatment can be,” said Credit Union Consumer Loan Quality Specialist Christine Liskey. “Anything and everything we can do to fight all forms of cancer is well worth it.”
Carmella Long, Marketing Assistant, added, “It’s a time to remember loved ones we’ve lost to cancer, encourage those who are fighting this disease, and celebrate with those who have won the battle. Let’s keep praying for a cure!”
