Christian Community Credit Union employees raise over $900 for Colon Cancer Coalition

SAN DIMAS, CA (March 10, 2016) — Christian Community Credit Union staff raised $965 for the Colon Cancer Coalition “Dress in Blue Day” fundraiser on Friday, March 4, 2016. By making a donation to the Colon Cancer Coalition, employees were able to wear jeans and blue shirts on Friday. All proceeds will go toward colon cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment efforts in Orange County, CA.

The fundraising effort is in memory of Terri Pagett, a longtime Credit Union employee who passed away in June 2015 after a long battle with colon cancer. The “CCCU Runs for Terri” Team plans to participate again in the Colon Cancer Coalition’s “Get Your Rear in Gear®” 5K Run/Walk in November of 2016.

“When a life is cut short by cancer, it changes the lives of everyone they knew,” said Charlie Allen, AVP of Member Experience, who organized the team. “By pulling together, I hope we can help raise money to find a cure so others won’t have to lose loved ones to colon cancer like we lost Terri. We miss her.”
