City & County Credit Union makes impact in community
ST. PAUL, MN (October 12, 2017) — Alongside 37 other Minnesota credit unions, City & County Credit Union gave back to the community on Monday, October 9th. City & County Credit Union employees pulled weeds, stocked food pantries and made blankets during its third-annual Impact Day.
“Impact Day is the perfect example of what City & County Credit Union strives to accomplish everyday – actively empower our members, in and outside of the credit union,” Patrick Pierce, CEO/President, explained. “By spending the day out in the community, we are able to go beyond serving our member’s financial needs and work towards building a stronger, more resilient community.’
In the morning, team members split into multiple groups to volunteer at a host of charitable organizations that City & County works with year round. During the morning, City & County made the following impact:
– Made Blankets for Gillette Children’s Ronald McDonald House
– Sorted and packed food pantry boxes at the Open Door Pantry
– Cleaned up the grounds at the St. Paul YWCA including painting fences, pulling weeds and picking up trash
– Painted the interior walls at Lifetrack to give it a facelift
– Visited and played with youth at the St. Paul Salvation Army Child Development Center
– Cleaned and organized classrooms and the food pantry at the St. Paul Salvation Army
In the afternoon, City & County employees partnered with the City of St. Paul’s Park & Recreation Department to clean up Hamm Park – a neighborhood park 2 miles from City & County’s St. Paul Branch. During the park clean up, City & County employees pulled weeds, mulched flower beds, picked up trash, cut down invasive plants and raked leaves.
