Coastal Federal Credit Union welcomes Steve Morgan as VP, Controller

RALEIGH, NC (September 11, 2015) — Coastal Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Morgan as the company’s new Vice President, Controller. Mr. Morgan oversees and is responsible for the accounting operations of the credit union while developing the talent in his charge. He also serves as an integral part of the financial leadership of the organization working with the CFO, Asset/Liability Committee, and his peers across the credit union.

Mr. Morgan brings to Coastal 12+ years of experience in the banking industry, having begun his career as the Accounting Manager for South Central Bank of Barren County in Glasgow, Kentucky. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, he spent many years in high-level managerial roles at such institutions as Georgia State Bank and, most recently, CertusBank. While at CertusBank, his role was that of Senior Vice President, Director of Accounting Information Systems, sharing time between their Carrollton, Georgia office and their Corporate Headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.

Mr. Morgan is a 2003 graduate of Auburn University, where he obtained a degree in Accounting. He and his wife, Kara, along with their six year-old daughter, Hayden and their two English Bulldogs are purchasing a home in Youngsville, North Carolina. When not working, he enjoys Auburn football, grilling on his Big Green Egg, and spending time with family and friends.
