ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 28, 2016) — CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union members are invited to team up with us in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at the 40th running of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run in Washington, DC.
This year’s event is Sunday, April 3. CommonWealth One employees volunteer and participate at this event each year, and invite our members to join us!
“We are committed to the communities we serve and this is one of the many ways we demonstrate our support,” says Charlotte Cash, President/CEO of CommonWealth One. “Every year, we work with other Credit Unions nationwide to raise funds for children in our area. The funds we raise go directly to care for children at Children’s National Medical Center, here in Washington, DC.”

About the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is known as “The Runner’s Rite of Spring®.” The staging area for the event is on the Washington Monument Grounds and the course passes in sight of all of the major Washington, DC Memorials. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a consortium of 170 premier children’s hospitals across the United States. About one-third of the funds raised support Washington, DC’s own Children’s National Medical Center (“Children’s Hospital”). The event also funds two $5,000 Road Runners Club of America “Roads Scholar” grants designed to support up-and-coming U.S. distance running talent.
