True core systems integration makes for richer mobile banking experience
Austin, Texas – July 17, 2012 – When a customer of a bank can register for mobile banking instantly on a Sunday afternoon when the bank is closed, and deposit a check minutes after downloading the SmartApp, that is a great experience. When a credit union member can turn their debit card off and on to stop fraud in its tracks, that credit union is delivering a great member experience. Enabled by a second generation mobile offering that connects directly to the core system, more than 60 community banks and credit unions now leverage solutions from Malauzai Software, Inc. to create a rich user experience.
Malauzai, a leading provider of mobile banking SmartApps for community financial institutions, announced it has developed 25 interfaces to third-party vendors, including bill pay technology providers and mobile capture vendors Bluepoint Solutions and Fundtech. The company’s progress also includes forging eight interfaces to core credit union and banking system processors. Building a direct integration to the core system has an immediate and tangible impact on the end-user experience and their ultimate satisfaction with mobile banking.
“Malauzai’s core integration capabilities enable our customers to use their smartphones to register for mobile banking rather than registering through Internet banking,” said Jeff Casey, VP of alternative delivery channels at FFIN. “We realize a segment of our customer base relies solely on smartphones for Internet access, so making customers register for mobile banking through Internet banking just did not make sense.”
“Malauzai’s core integration expertise enables us to address customer needs by creating mobile banking solutions like card management and debit card on/off,” said Jim Simpson, CIO of City Bank Texas. “Integrating Malauzai’s mobile banking solution with our core system enables us to provide customers a better mobile banking experience.“
In addition to the integrations with core bank and credit union systems, Malauzai has been accepted into several of these vendors’ VIP programs for third party developers. Many technology companies that work with third parties have set up programs such as these to ease the challenges of integration. Industry-wide efforts, such as CUFX, a CUNA-sponsored effort to standardize core interface specifications, also aim to make integrations more straightforward.
“Creating a cohesive end-user experience has traditionally been hard to do because you need to integrate so many sources in to a single app,” said Robb Gaynor, chief product officer and co-founder of Malauzai. “First generation mobile banking providers tended to shy away from building direct integrations and unfortunately, the customers and members were the ones who suffered. What sounded good for the technologist proved less valuable for the end-user.”
Malauzai’s platform is based on three tenets: 1) Cool Social Banking SmartApps creating a great end-user experience, 2) an Application Management System to allow for customization and manageability of the SmartApp and 3) Mobile Analytics and Marketing to drive bank revenue via the mobile channel. Malauzai’s SmartApps are available for smartphones and tablets (iPad/Android).
