SPRINGFIELD, MO (May 13, 2014) -- The Board of Directors of Community Financial Credit Union (CFCU) is pleased to announce that they have selected Loretta Roney to succeed Cathy Stroud, who is retiring after 32 years with the credit union.

Retiring President/CEO Cathy Stroud served 42 years in the credit union movement, with 32 years as President/CEO at Community Financial. During her tenure at CFCU, assets grew from $7.5 million to over $60 million.

Stroud also served as Chairman of the Board for the Missouri Credit Union Association from 1991 - 1993 as well as various state-level committees. She was appointed and served as a member of the Missouri Credit Union Commission since 1998.

"It has been an honor to have served as President/CEO of Community Financial for so many years," says Stroud. "I am blessed to have worked with many wonderful people in the credit union industry, especially our members, the member volunteers who have served on our board of directors, and all of Community Financial's employees."

Incoming President/CEO, Loretta Roney brings more than 13 years experience in the financial services industry, most recently serving as President/CEO at Highway Alliance Credit Union in Jefferson City, Missouri.

"I am looking forward to serving Community Financial's members and the Springfield community in this new role, building on CFCU's solid reputation and superior service for continued growth in our communities," says Roney.

Roney earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Methodist University and her M.B.A. from William Woods University.
