Community Powered Federal Credit Union Celebrates Member Appreciation Day

BEAR, DE (June 4, 2013) Community Powered Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that Member Appreciation Day & Shred Event was held on Saturday, May 25, 2013. The fun filled event was located at the new office and headquarters building on Route 40 in Bear, Delaware. Community Powered Federal Credit Union serves over 9000 members. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in New Castle County, above the C&D Canal is welcome to become a member of the growing credit union.

At the community driven event, Anthony Hinds, CEO, and other credit union employees hosted an array of exciting family activities in the office parking lot.  Local performers, The Juggling Hoffmans, entertained a host of visitors with juggling acts, face painting, and balloon animals. Other activities included a craft station with spin art, inflatable 15-foot basketball hoops, and a Making Memories Last Photography photo booth.

The event was free and all were welcome to join in the festivities. Community Powered provided refreshments and a commercial shredder was on-site for the secure disposal of unwanted documents. When asked about the celebration, Community Powered CEO Anthony Hinds stated, "We are very pleased to bring the Credit Union’s headquarters, as well as our money saving products and services to the Rt. 40 corridor in Bear. The success of our Member Appreciation Day is a testament to the warm welcome that we have received from the community.”

First chartered in 1962 to serve employees of the Delmarva Power & Light Company, Community Powered has expanded in the years since its inception to offer services to all residents, employees, and businesses in New Castle County.
