COMPASS 4 CUs celebrates milestone with Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union

WOODBRIDGE, VA (December 1, 2015) — COMPASS 4 CUs LLC, a credit union service organization (CUSO) specializing in providing regulatory compliance assistance solutions to credit unions, wraps up the celebration of their fifth year anniversary by extending their original agreement with their first credit union client, Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union. Over the past five years, the collaboration between COMPASS and Pioneer West Virginia has helped both organizations to continually grow and evolve.

In 2010, Dan McGowan (then Senior Vice President and CFO of Pioneer West Virginia), was looking for ways in which to take Pioneer West Virginia to the highest level of member service. One of the areas of focus was enhancing the credit union’s internal compliance program. An agreement was reached to have COMPASS provide Pioneer West Virginia with regulatory compliance support and assistance after a consultation with Gaye DeCesare, President/CEO of COMPASS.

“Over the past five years, we’ve taken our compliance function to new levels of excellence by supplementing our internal efforts with the expertise brought to us by COMPASS,” said McGowan, now President/CEO of Pioneer West Virginia. “Since everything in the compliance world isn’t black and white, we’ve found that discussing issues with their “brain trust” of experts has been especially beneficial in guiding us through the gray areas of compliance.”

“Pioneer West Virginia is our oldest client. They had faith in us early and stayed with us, and we’re forever grateful for that,” stated DeCesare. “Together, we make each other stronger.”
