Connex Credit Union Donates to the North Haven American Legion Post 76 Baseball Team
North Haven, Conn. (May 9, 2011) Connex recently donated $686.16 to the North Haven American Legion Post 76 Baseball Team. The money for this donation came from the fees collected by a coin cashing machine in the Connex North Haven Branch. Connex charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the money collected to caring organizations in the community.
“This donation will help pay for yearly dues of kids who are players and can’t afford to pay and help us buy equipment like baseballs,” says Charlie Flanagan, North Haven American Legion Post 76 Baseball Senior Legion Coach. “Sometimes it’s hard for our kids and their families to come up with the money to pay for dues and the more money we raise, the less they’ll need to pay.”
The Connecticut American Legion Baseball program will begin its 84th season in 2011. American Legion Baseball teaches hundreds of thousands of young Americans the importance of sportsmanship, good health and active citizenship.
