Connex Credit Union Donates to Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School

Hamden, Conn. (September 23, 2011) Connex recently donated $690.51 to Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School. The money for this donation came from the fees collected by a coin cashing machine in the Connex Hamden Branch. Connex charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the money collected to caring organizations in the community.
“We had a tough year with our fundraisers last year, due to the economic crunch,” said Charlene Raube, Wintergreen Interdistrict School PTO Secretary. “Your contribution will be a great help to the programs we are planning, including field trips throughout the school year enrichment activities that involve visits from guest professionals, artists or groups; our back to school dance and annual international fair.”
The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School is located on Wintergreen Avenue in Hamden and serves the communities of Hamden, New Haven, Wallingford and Woodbridge. The school, with a current population of approximately 600 students, serves student in grades K-8 who are chosen through a lottery process. The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School is managed by the Area Cooperative Educational Services.
