Connex Credit Union helps save animal lives with donation to Where the Love is Animal Rescue
MERIDEN, CT (February 19, 2016) — Recently, members of the Meriden community and Connex Credit Union teamed up to utilize spare change to help save the lives of at-risk rescue animals. As a part of its philanthropic program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union donated more than $500, from the fees collected by Connex’s coin-cashing machine at their Meriden branch, to Where the Love is Animal Rescue. Coins-for-Change charges a five percent fee to members, a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community.
“We would like to thank Connex Credit Union for their donation to Where the Love is Animal Rescue,” said Christina Hackett, member, Where the Love is Animal Rescue. “These funds will be immediately used as we pay the veterinary bills for the recent treatment of a mom, and litter of puppies, that had been suffering from the parvovirus at a high-kill shelter.”
Where the Love is Animal Rescue is an animal rescue organization run entirely by volunteers. They rescue animals from high-kill shelters, provide the medical care they require and find a forever home for them to live comfortably.
