The Cooperative Credit Union Association announces a newly formed partnership with Gentreo, a company that provides consumers affordable online estate planning.
Since the start of the pandemic, many are feeling an increased sense of urgency to write a will and/or trust as part of estate planning packages. These legal documents can streamline or avoid the often-costly process of navigating the probate court system to determine how to distribute one’s assets and property. Another way people are getting their affairs in order is by drafting a power of attorney or advanced health care directive, legal documents that can empower a loved one to follow through with necessary medical or financial decisions if a person becomes incapacitated.
“It can be difficult to plan for a worst-case scenario, but it must be done,” said CCUA President/CEO Ron McLean. “ With Gentreo joining our CU Connect Program, it allows us to be able to provide services to our credit unions’ members - helping them prepare for the unexpected, especially as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Gentreo, a Massachusetts-based software company, makes it simple and affordable for consumers to legally protect their families. They provide online estate planning solutions which allow consumers to create state specific legal documents for complete legal estate plans and safely store them in a secured online environment, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
