Corning Credit Union’s Grinnell named to NAFCU Board

WASHINGTON, DC (December 28, 2015) — The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) has named Gary Grinnell, president and CEO of Corning Credit Union, as Region I director on the NAFCU Board of Directors. Grinnell replaces Gary Easterling, president and CEO of United Federal Credit Union, who has stepped down.

“As NAFCU looks ahead to a tremendous year of activity, we welcome Gary Grinnell. His insight, experience and dedication to the credit union industry will serve us well,” said NAFCU Chair Ed Templeton, president and CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union.

“The NAFCU Board appreciates Gary Easterling’s willingness to serve and we wish him the best,” Templeton added.

Grinnell joined Corning Credit Union, headquartered in Corning, N.Y., in 1997. He served in various positions in member service and lending with increasing responsibility until he became president and CEO in 2007. With assets exceeding $1 billion, Corning Credit Union serves more than 98,000 members.

“NAFCU is a formidable advocate for credit unions in Washington,” said Grinnell. “I look forward to joining the board and helping to advance credit union issues.”
