Corporate America Brings Aboard Seasoned Financial Industry Experts, Beefs Up Internal Controls

Irondale, Ala. (Sept. 11, 2012) – Corporate America Credit Union announced today it has enhanced its risk management and internal controls infrastructure, hiring two highly skilled employees to staff the positions of ERM Specialist/Acting Chief Risk Officer and Internal Auditor.
Barbara Medley, CPA is CACU’s new ERM (enterprise risk management) Specialist. She also will serve as Acting Chief Risk Officer while the Corporate conducts a search to fill this position full time. Medley holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is a certified public accountant with more than 30 years’ financial institution experience. Before joining CACU, she was EVP/Chief Risk Officer for a $3 billion community bank, responsible for risk management, auditing, compliance and security. Prior to that, Medley held the positions of Director of Internal Audit, Manager of Accounting Operations and Financial Analyst.
Rachel Dodson, CPA, CIA joins CACU as Internal Auditor. She has a master’s degree in accounting from Auburn University and holds the designations of both certified public accountant and certified internal auditor. Dodson has more than 12 years’ internal audit experience, working with both credit unions and banks. Most recently, she served as Senior Manager for several fully outsourced internal audit engagements for a national CPA firm. Under those engagements, she was responsible for the design and execution of the internal audit plan, internal controls assessment and interacting with financial institutions’ boards of directors.
