(Albany, NY) – Covera Card Solutions is the recipient of a 2011 Gold Hermes Creative Award for Get Carducated, a youth video contest that rewarded teens for being “carducated,” or educated about responsible debit, credit and ATM use.
Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. Get Carducated, Covera Card Solutions’ online video contest was recognized in the Web Multimedia, Games, Contests, Presentation category.
Members of participating credit unions between the ages of 16 and 21 who were attending college or would be college-bound by October 2012 were asked to make a short video expressing their ideas about responsible debit, credit and ATM card use – why it’s important, lessons they’ve learned, or any other pertinent angle. Contestants uploaded their videos to YouTube and promoted them to generate as many views as possible. The grand prize, awarded to the video with the most views, was a $5,000 college scholarship.
“It was exciting for us to develop and offer this contest,” said Kimberly McCumber-Ploof, COO of Covera. “To be recognized for creating a new, fun way to help today’s young adults become card-savvy is very gratifying.”
The 2011 Hermes Creative Awards competition received more than 4,400 entries from throughout the Unites States, Canada and several other countries. Entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (www.amcpros.com), an international organization that consists of several thousand marketing, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance professionals.
