ALBUQUERQUE, NM (November 17, 2023) — The Credit Union Association of New Mexico is pleased to announce the appointment of Dwayne Herrera to its Board of Directors. As the President & CEO of the Los Alamos, New Mexico based Zia Credit Union, Mr. Herrera brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the credit union industry.
Dwayne Herrera is a respected leader in the credit union community, known for his innovative approach and deep commitment to the principles of cooperative finance. His career includes senior level positions at Del Norte Credit Union and State Employees Credit Union. Herrera holds an MBA and a Masters in Human Resource Management. He is a Certified Senior Executive through the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES), holds CUNA Mortgage Lending Certifications, and is a proud graduate of the Western CUNA Management School, class of 1995.

Dwayne Herrera’s appointment was made to fulfill the Board seat vacated by the retirement of Winona Nava and is a testament to the Credit Union Association of New Mexico’s commitment to leadership excellence. Dwayne’s expertise and vision are expected to play a key role in shaping the future of the association.
