ORLANDO, FL. (Sept, 2012) – When it comes to selecting a core data processing system to run their financial operations, Gary Police Department Employees Federal Credit Union, Murphy Credit Union and Dixie Craft Employees Credit Union claim it’s all about customer service; both for their shareholders and from their vendor. All three institutions have recently decided to implement the OASys core data processing system to better service their members. OASys is offered by CUtopia; a division of Worldwide Interactive Services, LLC who recently announced the upgrade release of OASys 2.0.
The FDIC recently released data showing that 8.2% of U.S. households (close to 12 million) are managing their finances without a traditional bank or credit union. “People have become disillusioned with the service they are receiving at all levels,” says Chris Pantaleon, Director of Business Development at CUtopia. “We are focusing on customer service because the larger data processing companies just aren’t geared towards providing the level of customer service for small and medium sized credit unions that we can,” says Mr. Pantaleon.
For the 235 member, $1.5 million Gary Police Department Employees Federal Credit Union, the decision was simple. “The main reason that we chose the OASys system was the personality of the firm. I was made to feel like family instead of a client,” says CEO James D. Bogard. “When the system was demonstrated to me, it felt so user friendly, and met our needs in every category. Everything was explained up-front in reference to cost which was very reasonable. This is one decision I am truly happy with,” commented Mr. Bogard.
Likewise, Barbara Nihart, Manager of the 220 member Murphy Credit Union in Minneapolis, MN also focused on customer service related issues. “Murphy Credit Union made the decision to go with OASys based on the focus it placed on smaller credit unions. Our current system is very outdated and the conversion to OASys supplies the updated features we so badly need to provide the service our shareholders deserve. It provides us with all the tools to run our credit union just like the larger institutions with the security and peace of mind of being fully hosted. The pricing made it very affordable for our small credit union,” says Ms. Nihart.
Dinah Harrelson, CEO of the 430 member Dixie Craft Credit Union out of Goodwater, Alabama echoed the sentiment of her colleagues. “We chose CUtopia’s OASys for several reasons. The package was presented professionally, their staff addressed all our concerns and they were very easy to work with. We also found the screen set-up to be very user friendly. The customer service has been excellent and we feel it will be a great benefit for our members. Last, but not least, the software was economically priced,” commented Ms. Harrelson.
The OASys core processing system is designed for credit unions that are limited by their current system, yet require a low cost of ownership. The cloud based/hosted system provides operational flexibility and delivers a highly functional, reliable and fully compliant solution that is configurable to each credit union’s unique environment. Credit union managers who still wrestle with manual functionality will welcome the automated features that include OFAC, end of day, credit bureau and call reporting as well as automated back-up. From a customer service perspective, OASys adds a new level of automation with 24/7 live support and customer service along with training and support services that are unmatched in the industry.
