Credit Union Financial Education Network extends annual reporting deadline

The Credit Union Financial Education Network (CUFEN) announced today that the deadline for annual reporting has been extended to July 14 and stressed the need for delegates to submit data. CUFEN reviews and compiles this critical information from credit unions nationwide to establish a financial literacy landscape that better equips leaders to locally promote community service efforts and demonstrate the credit union difference.

To simplify this year’s process, CUFEN developed a reporting survey that can be found here. This one-stop reporting survey streamlines information, which allows CUFEN to supply findings quickly and efficiently. CUFEN’s reporting survey is designed to collect holistic information from credit unions and not from a single employee or department level. CUFEN suggests using its website’s reporting tips to ensure consistency and continuity among reports. Their reporting cadence is designated July 1 through June 30 the following year to better align with traditional school year calendars and the annual CUFEN Conference.

CUFEN Chair Trysh Olson believes financial literacy in America is experiencing a positive shift. “Financial literacy awareness is greater than ever because the realization that we lack knowledge, especially among our nation’s youth, is undeniable. Enriching lives through financial education is at the heart of the credit union movement. Reporting your financial education efforts is critical for continuing the momentum and ensuring our legislators have available resources to help us keep financial literacy top of mind and show the credit union difference,” Olson explained.
