Credit Union House celebrates 20th anniversary

WASHINGTON, DC (November 15, 2021) — Credit Union House (CU House) on Capitol Hill, the credit union “home away from home” in Washington, D.C., celebrates its 20th anniversary this month.

“Credit Union House was built by and for the credit union movement with the intent to visibly increase political involvement at the national level,” said Sue McCue, CU House Managing Director. “The facility is a convenient, permanent venue on Capitol Hill where CUNA, League and credit union representatives meet to discuss strategies, plan Hill meetings and share feedback from Congressional visits.”

CU House is a place where the future of the movement is influenced and shaped through CUNA-League System collaboration. Its location on Capitol Hill makes it a prime meeting space.

“Over the years, CU House has evolved into a powerful advocacy tool. Advocates are able to build relationships with Members of Congress, federal regulators and other elected officials in a unique way, in an impressive space that is essentially ‘all credit union, all the time’. In a city known for monuments, I think it’s significant that our movement can point to its very own landmark, right in our nation’s capital.”

Sustained annual giving from individuals, credit unions state Leagues and associations, CUNA and other system organizations provide the funding for CU House’s ongoing operations. Contributions are always welcome and appreciated.
