Credit Union in Pensacola, FL celebrates International Credit Union Day with membership drive
The financial institution strives to further support their community in times of uncertainty
PENSACOLA, FL (October 30, 2020) — On October 15, 2020, Central Credit Union of Florida commemorated International Credit Union Day with special treats for its members and a special offer for new members. This year marks the 72nd anniversary of ICU Day and is celebrated world-wide to reflect on the credit union movement’s history and achievements.
Raising awareness about the tremendous work that credit unions and other financial cooperatives are doing all over the globe, ICU Day gives members the opportunity to get more engaged. Central Credit Union of Florida provided free facemasks and individually packaged refreshments to members stopping by at each of their five branch locations. But they did not stop there and also reduced the deposit to open an account to $5 for all new members and those who selected a bundle of four of the credit union’s valuable services received a $25 gift.
This event is just one of many throughout the year in which Central Credit Union of Florida is showing appreciation for their constituents and welcoming new members. Their philosophy centers around people helping people as Barbara MacNeil, Central Credit Union of Florida Community Liaison stated,
“It has been a tough year for everyone so we look forward to days like this when we can do something extra to brighten everyone’s day. It is not just our duty to find ways to support our community, it is what we want to do. Every day.”
The theme of this year’s ICU day was “Inspiring hope for a global community” which aligns with Central Credit Union’s daily efforts to promote collaboration and their desire to be a philanthropic organization that brings people from all walks of life together.
