American First Credit Union members and associates donate $5,863 to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to provide medical care for children. Additionally, forty-five associates, members, and their families participated to support the CHOC Walk in the Park, which is considered the largest most unique pediatric fundraiser in the nation.
The event started at 5 a.m. and included a 5K walk through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. “There were people everywhere, and it felt great being a part of a fundraiser that showed how much people care about the well-being of children who deserve the best care.” said Barbara Hernandez, Senior Account Executive at American First Credit Union. “We asked members to donate by rounding up their transactions, held office fundraisers, and joined with other credit unions through the Credit Unions for Kids organization to help contribute to CHOC.”
Named one of the best children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report (2017-2018), CHOC is known for their devotion to provide the highest quality medical care to children with life-threatening diseases and injuries. As a non-profit hospital, all their donations and funding go directly to providing children with advanced and leading healthcare, education and research.
