Credit Union of Southern California Wakes up Whittier with Christmas in July

CU SoCal hosts Whittier Chamber of Commerce event, “Wake up Whittier” proving the spirit of Christmas can start anytime during the year

ANAHEIM HILLS, CA (July 29, 2017) — Credit Union of Southern California (CU SoCal), celebrated “Christmas in July” at the Whittier Chamber of Commerce breakfast event, Wake Up Whittier. The festive event, with more than 180 attendees, was held in the parking lot of the CU SoCal Whittier Greenleaf branch and was in full holiday swing with Christmas trees, elves, snowmen, and a summer surfin’ Santa!

CU SoCal President/CEO, Dave Gunderson, was on-hand to thank the city of Whittier and the Whittier Police Officers Association (WPOA) for its continued service to the community. CU SoCal presented a donation of $5,000 kicking off the WPOAs fundraising efforts for their annual Christmas Family Adoption Project. Whittier Police Chief Piper and Police Officer Scoggins accepted the check on behalf of the Association.

Among the attendees at the event were key representatives from the city including City Manager Jeff Collier, Councilmember Fernando Dutra, members from the Whittier Chamber, and dozens of local businesses from the surrounding community.
