SD credit unions receive high honors for community involvement

BISMARCK, ND (October 2, 2017) — The following South Dakota credit unions received honors at the state level in the “Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Awards Program.”

First Place Honors:
• $50 million to $250 million in assets
Aberdeen Federal Credit Union in Aberdeen

Second-Place Honors:
• $50 to $250 million in assets
Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls

The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award recognizes credit unions that have excelled in community relations and are committed to ongoing charitable programs within their communities. The award is named for Dora Maxwell, a credit union pioneer who worked to improve the living standards of the underserved. These winners will be sent on to CUNA, Inc. for national judging with credit unions in their asset category.

The awards will be presented at the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas Annual Summit to be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 9-11, 2018.
