North Dakota credit unions receive honors for commitment to membership
BISMARCK, ND (October 2, 2017) — The following North Dakota credit unions received honors at the state level in the “Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action:”
First Place Honors:
• $250 million to $1 billion in assets
Capital Credit Union in Bismarck
• $50 million to $250 million in assets
North Star Community Credit Union in Maddock
• Less than $50 million in assets
Postal Family Federal Credit Union in Fargo
Second Place Honors:
• $50 million to $250 million in assets
Railway Credit Union in Mandan
The Louise Herring Award honors credit unions for their practical application of the People Helping People philosophy that is the hallmark of the credit union movement. The award is named after Louise Herring, a credit union pioneer who believed that the operational application of credit union philosophy helped better people’s lives. The first place winners will be sent on to CUNA, Inc. for national judging with credit unions in their asset category.
The awards will be presented at the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas Annual Summit to be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 9-11, 2018.
