CU Business Group Starts 2011 with 350th Credit Union Client

(Portland, OR – February 10, 2011) – Business services CUSO CU Business Group started off 2011 with the addition of their 350th credit union client, Dover Federal Credit Union of Dover, Delaware.
Dover FCU is also CUBG’s first credit union client in the state of Delaware, meaning the CUSO is now serving credit unions in 41 states across the nation.
In January alone, CUBG added 6 new credit union clients, for a total of 353 in all. In 2010 the organization signed on a total of 28 new credit unions.
President/CEO Larry Middleman attributes much of CUBG’s continued growth to the addition of new products and services in 2010. The CUSO began offering remote deposit capture and ACH origination solutions for businesses last year, as well as launching an enhanced full-service SBA lending program.
“Credit unions today are seeking new ways to grow their business programs, widening their lending options, and increasing fee income,” explained Middleman. “We’re keeping in close touch with this and expanding our programs to be able to help credit unions find solutions to meet their needs of today.”
Middleman also mentioned the organization has seen a rise in demand for third party reviews of MBL programs and portfolios from credit unions. CUBG performed 36 specialty consulting projects in 2010 and has many more already scheduled for 2011. Demand has also grown for training, he noted. In addition to their regular webinars and regional training sessions, CUBG now offers training courses for credit union Board and Business Loan Committees and custom training for credit union business services staff.
