PORTLAND, OR (December 22, 2014) -- CU Business Group is giving back this holiday season, working with two local charities to make the holidays a little brighter for others.
Staff of the business services CUSO recently collected and donated an overflowing barrel of food to SnowCap Community Charities, an organization that provides food, clothing, advocacy, and other services to the poor. The food items were distributed in SnowCap’s weekly food boxes.
CU Business Group’s staff also donated gifts to two Portland area families for Christmas. The CUSO gathered names and wish lists from Birch Community Services, a Portland-based charity organization focused on giving a hand up to people that are working or actively seeking employment. CUBG employees pitched in and purchased gifts from the wish lists for both the children and the adults in each family. After wrapping the gifts, CUBG delivered them to Birch for the families to take home and place under the Christmas tree.
CUBG also donated several gently used computer monitors to Birch Community Services this fall.
“We have a staff with a very giving and generous spirit,” said CUBG President/CEO Larry Middleman. We always want to do what we can to help out others in our community and make someone’s holidays a little merrier.”
