CU Companies hosted 28th annual meeting
NEW BRIGHTON, MN (February 25, 2016) — CU Companies hosted its 28th annual meeting this past month at its New Brighton, Minnesota, location. With 24 of the 64 owners present, CU Companies’ Chairman Tom Smith, CEO Brad Crandall, and CFO Melanie Meier, presented to the audience the 2014-15 fiscal year accomplishments and goals for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
The owners re-elected members of the Board of Directors for three-year terms: Dave Boden of Hiway Federal Credit Union and Patrick Pierce of City &County Credit Union. Doug Ralston of Hermantown Federal Credit Union was elected to replace Kathy Harrington of Heartland Credit Union whom retiredfrom the Board after four years of service. The remaining Board members include Tom Smith of TopLine Federal Credit Union, Phillip Kopischke ofSharePoint Credit Union, Paul Dammann of United Educators Credit Union, and Mark Everson of Wings Financial Credit Union. During a re-organizationalmeeting following the annual meeting, the Board members re-elected Smith as Board Chair and Dammann as Vice Chair. Pierce was newly elected as Secretary.
The business meeting presentation focused on the key performance indicators of CU Companies, which included the expansion of the company’s presenceacross its territories, the addition of products and services, and a new initiative that puts CU Companies’ philosophy on service into measurable action.Additionally, the advancements of the five business units were highlighted as well as the company’s plans for continued growth in the 2015-16 fiscal year and beyond–with a focus on “being the solution” to owners, partners, and borrowers.
Following the business meeting CU Companies hosted a keynote presentation by author, award-winning broadcaster, and community leader Joe Schmit. Schmit’s first book, “Silent Impact,” includes stories of influence through purpose, persistence, and passion, and helped to wrap up the “be the solution” theme CU Companies has set for the new fiscal year.
