CU24 Board of Directors elects Jimmy Smith Chairman of the Board and Becky Hulett Vice Chairman

TALLAHASSEE, FL (June 25, 2015) — CU24, operator of the nation’s largest credit union-owned ATM and POS network, announced that the Board of Directors has elected James B. “Jimmy” Smith as Chairman of the Board, Becky Hulett as Vice Chairman and David Southall as Secretary/Treasurer.

Mr. Smith, President and CEO of Singing River Federal Credit Union in Moss Point, Mississippi, has served on the CU24 board since 2012. “As Chairman of the CU24 board, Jimmy brings a wealth of organizational leadership and credit union experience,” said Mansel Guerry, CU24 President and CEO. “His service and guidance on the Board have already proven valuable in helping direct our organization toward delivering on our mission, and we look forward to having him as Chairman.”

Mr. Smith is also Chairman of the Board of the Mississippi Credit Union Association and Vice Chairman of Accolade Investment Advisory, LLC. “I am honored to have been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. CU24 is privileged to have a slate of board members that bring a vast knowledge of credit union expertise to this organization,” said Smith. “The board’s understanding of the credit union movement and the payment system needs within our industry will greatly influence the path taken by CU24.”

Becky Hulett is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of 121 Financial Credit Union in Jacksonville, Florida. She has been a CU24 board member since 2010 and previously served as Secretary/Treasurer. She is also a current member of the CUNA CFO Council and a member of the Women Business Owners of North Florida. David Southall, elected Secretary/Treasurer, has been a member of the CU24 board since 2008. He is President and CEO of Innovations Federal Credit Union of Panama City, Florida.

Re-elected to the Board of Directors were John M. Neusaenger, President and CEO of the Orlando Federal Credit Union and Denise Swan, President of GEMC Federal Credit Union. Newly elected board members include Paul Phillips, President and CEO of Freedom First Federal Credit Union and Robert “Bob” A. Steensma, President and CEO of Five Star Credit Union. “I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve and look forward to working with the talented CU24 board and dedicated team at CU24 to help credit unions compete and improve their members’ lives,” said Steensma.
