CU*Answers celebrates National Financial Literacy Month by promoting financial literacy series for credit union board members
GRAND RAPIDS, MI (April 18, 2016) — National Financial Literacy Month is nationally recognized in April in an effort to highlight the importance of financial literacy, and to teach how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits.
CU*Answers, as a cooperative CUSO, also acknowledges the importance of maintaining good financial habits, and furthermore recognizes the industry importance of growing and maintaining financial literacy for credit union board directors. During the month of April, CU*Answers drives to promote its Financial Literacy for Credit Union Board Directors educational video series.
This video series, which has been available from CU*Answers since 2012, is intended either to start the journey toward financial literacy, or to confirm that board members are competent, experienced credit union volunteers. The education series is advertised as a knowledge refresher, or for onboarding new credit union board members at any time. Additionally, CU*Answers recognizes that financial literacy doesn’t happen by simply reading about it; it comes with the confidence gained from the experience, education, and perseverance as a volunteer.
