CU*Answers helps credit unions with Incident Response Planning
GRAND RAPIDS, MI (February 21, 2017) — On February 9, 2017, CU*Answers presented a complimentary web-based educational course for credit unions on developing, implementing and testing their Incident Response Plans (IRP) as part of their comprehensive information security program (CISP). This webinar is offered once each quarter.
“The first step in designing your credit union’s plan is to understand what an effective incident response looks like,” said Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Business Continuity Manager at CU*Answers. “Too often organizations attempt to adapt a template they’ve downloaded or compose a generic plan based on a compliance article they’ve read. This does little to prepare them for an actual incident.” During the webinar, participants are exposed to the multiple stages of a response relative to the credit union environment and provided questions that help them build and test their custom Incident Response Plan.
As part of their commitment to their network of 200+ credit union clients, CU*Answers, a cooperative CUSO, provides professional education courses (classroom and web-based) and consulting services on topics relevant to the needs and current events of the industry.
