(Albany, NY) – With virtually all New York federal and state legislators facing elections and new district lines in place, much is at stake for New York credit unions this election season.
To simplify the process of choosing credit union-friendly legislators in September (primaries) and November, the Credit Union Association of New York has created an online resource center to assist credit union professionals, volunteers and members in identifying candidates that are and have been supportive of credit union issues and more.
“Our members want to know if their lawmakers support credit unions,” said the Association’s President/CEO, William J. Mellin. “This online resource center will help credit union members make informed choices as they make their voices heard in the primaries and when they go to the polls in November.”
The Voter’s Resource Center details state legislators’ records on bills affecting credit unions and their 4.6 million members across the state. It also includes the following voter resources:
- New York State Board of Elections
- Absentee Ballot Request
- CUNA Elections Action Center
- Locate your Lawmakers
- VoteNY (New voting machine information)
- Project Vote Smart
State Primary Election Candidates
- New York State Senate
- New York State Assembly
General Election Candidates
- United States Senate – NY
- United States Congress – NY
Political Action Committee Information
- Supporting pro-credit union candidates
The resource is available on the Association’s website at www.cuany.org/VotersResourceCenter.
