Grand Rapids, MI – February 4th, 2011
With the most recent release of CU*BASE system enhancements, CU*Answers has provided its clients with controls to specify certain membership designations (such as businesses) as being exempt from Opt/In/Opt Out requirements.

According to CU*Answers, this option lies within the Membership Designation Configuration, so all new memberships marked with this Designation (and all accounts for that membership) will automatically be set to “Opt In.”  Employees do not need to define Reg. E requirements during the membership opening workflow, and no longer have the ability to see the Opt In/Opt Out checkboxes which were previously located at the bottom of the screen.

CU*Answers also says that this exemption blocks members’ ability to change their “Opt In/Opt Out” status online within It’s Me 247 Online Banking, and those with an exempted membership cannot see the “My Overdraft Services” tab in the “Preferences” section when logged in.
