MADISON, WI (November 6, 2014) -- Credit union staff and youth nationwide selected “Wild About Saving™” to be the theme for the 2015 National Credit Union Youth Month™, which will take place April 1-30, 2015. The concept was chosen from ideas submitted by credit union staff this fall.
Responding to demand from credit unions for a month-long celebration, National Credit Union Youth Week™ grows into National Credit Union Youth Month in 2015. The month-long celebration extends the time in which credit unions can connect and convey to their members the importance of financial education at a young age.
The winning theme was submitted by Karina Garcia from CFE Federal Credit Union. “Youth Month is all about getting children and their parents excited, maybe even a little wild, about saving. For the 2015 theme, I suggested ‘Wild about Saving’ because it gives credit unions many opportunities to express their creativity and engage young members.”
“By starting youth on the right path towards saving goals and financial education, Youth Month helps credit unions build strong, life-long relationships with their members, “ said Joanne Sepich, CUNA’s Youth Month Coordinator. “The vibrant ‘Wild about Saving’ theme accomplishes these goals while keeping money management fun for kids!”
