(October 16, 2014) -- CUNA is proud to celebrate the 67th Annual International Credit Union Day on October 16 along with the more than 200 million credit union members worldwide. This year we’ve been honored to mark a milestone in the United States – 100 million credit union memberships. The growth of credit union memberships in America, as well as around the globe, are indications of the burgeoning popularity of our cooperative, not for profit financial institutions. As part of that growth, we remain committed in achieving our vision for the movement – that Americans choose credit unions as their best financial partner. Credit unions and associations throughout the world celebrate this special day with open houses, contests, picnics, charity drives and parades, uniting behind the ICU Day message of “Local Service. Global Good.” We encourage credit unions to share their stories with the hashtags #ICUDay and #creditunions to help raise awareness of the positive difference they make in communities around the word.
