CUNA HR/TD Council white paper takes a deeper dive into wellness programs

MADISON, WI (November 14, 2014) -- In this follow-up to the 2012 CUNA HR/TD Council white paper, “Credit Union Wellness Programs: Good Health Is Good Business,” “A Deeper Dive Into Wellness Programs: Are They the Solutions They Were Intended to Be?” examines the findings of the first paper to assess whether wellness programs indeed make good business sense.

For this paper, we followed up with several contributors from the 2012 paper, along with other credit union staff who are responsible for their institutions’ wellness initiatives. We examined the programs’ bottom-line effects in 2014 and the factors driving those results. The paper also discusses:

  • Health care costs
  • Attendance and productivity
  • Metrics
  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other internal/external factors
  • Encouraging participation
  • Advice for other credit unions

It also includes five case studies of credit unions’ wellness programs and the outcomes they’re seeing, both financially and from a health standpoint.

CUNA Council members are eligible to receive a complimentary copy of this white paper, and more than 300 others. “A Deeper Dive Into Wellness Programs: Are They the Solutions They Were Intended to Be?” is available online in the white paper section of www.cunacouncils.org.
