CUNA Mutual Group’s January 2018 Credit Union Trends Report

CUNA Mutual Group’s January Credit Union Trends Report is now available. The Credit Union Trends Report is a monthly "pulse check" on the state of the credit union marketplace, often placed in a historical context.

January Report Highlights:

  • Over the last 12 months, total credit union loan balances rose more than 10.7%, the 39th consecutive month of greater than 10% annual loan growth.
  • Credit union fixed-rate first mortgage loan balances grew 1.7% in November, double the pace set in November 2016.
  • As of November 2017, CUNA estimates 5,806 credit unions were in operation, down 248 from November 2016.
