WASHINGTON, DC (May 18, 2020) — The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) announced today the appointment of Barbra Lowman as President of CUNA Strategic Services, Inc. (CSS).

“We are thrilled to welcome Barbra Lowman to CSS,” said Jim Nussle, CUNA President and CEO. “Barbra is a proven leader and innovator. As a seasoned credit union technology and product marketing professional, she has an extensive track record of delivering technologically advanced products and superior service to help credit unions and their members thrive.”

Barbra brings more than two decades of dedicated credit union experience to CSS. Most recently, she served as EVP and Chief Growth Officer for the Cornerstone Credit Union League. In this role, she was responsible for all revenue generation processes and was successful in driving overall revenue growth. In her role at Cornerstone, Barbra served on several industry Boards and the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) League Service Corporation Executives Committee.

“The CSS Board was extremely impressed with Barbra’s experience and we are confident she will be a fantastic leader,” said Roger Heacock, CSS Board Chair and President & CEO, Black Hills Federal Credit Union. “I want to personally welcome her to this dynamic team, and we all look forward to taking on our future opportunities and challenges together.”

Prior to Cornerstone, Barbra was Vice President of Professional Services at Fiserv where she oversaw the credit union professional services division, developing go-to-market strategies, operational processes, compensation plans, and pragmatic and accurate forecasting models.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead CSS,” said Barbra. “Credit unions do incredible work to serve members, and I am passionate about supporting their needs as they live out their mission. I look forward to setting new targets and growing the influence of CSS throughout our movement.”

Barbra is a certified Credit Union Development Educator. Earlier in her career, she had leading information technology and client services roles at CRI Solutions, Credit Union On-Line, Liberty FiTECH Systems, and SSA Baltimore FCU. In all her roles, she has driven organizations forward through technology advancement and a commitment to operating efficiencies and sustainable growth opportunities for credit unions. She will officially join CSS on June 22.

CSS, jointly owned by CUNA and the state credit union Leagues, saves credit unions money through an alliance program. It offers products and services that contribute to credit unions’ bottom lines, add to their peace of mind, and enhance their relationships.
