CUNA to host vendor program on the credit union marketplace

MADISON, WI (March 16, 2015) -- CUNA Strategic Services will host an intensive, new educational program for vendors looking to establish themselves in the credit union movement. The program, CUNA CORE, will be held this summer in Madison, Wis.

“CUNA CORE is the only centralized educational program for vendors in the credit union industry,” said Julie Esser, VP Alliance Development of CUNA Strategic Services. “Understanding the credit union movement can be a daunting task, CUNA CORE will change that.”

One of the biggest barriers vendors face when trying to establish themselves in the credit union industry is its unique culture, which is very different than that of other financial institutions. CUNA CORE allows attendees to lower the learning curve by diving into the credit union movement’s core values.

Attendees can expect to:
Gain exposure to the credit union industry
Build relationships with credit union leaders
Gauge the market for their products and services
Develop an understanding of credit union culture, core values and market needs
Establish a credit union market strategy

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to tour Credit Union National Association’s credit union campus and ask credit union leaders about market needs.

“There is certainly a void of resources to help those firms that service credit unions,” says Steve Swanston, EVP of CU People. “As credit unions are dependent upon vendors in every aspect of their operations, the greater the pool of vendors, and the more educated they are, the greater the competitive options and overall benefit will be to the credit union industry.”

Program details are being finalized. Learn more at promote.cuna.org/core.
