CUNA’s Nussle responds to resignation of NCUA’s McWatters

WASHINGTON, DC (November 23, 2020) — J. Mark McWatters resigned Friday from his position on the board of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle issued the following statement:

“As a member of the NCUA Board, J. Mark McWatters has helped credit unions advance the financial well-being of their 120 million members. We’re appreciative of his work to reduce the regulatory hurdles that credit unions face and for his service to the movement. We wish him well in his next endeavor.

“As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the health and finances of communities across the country, it is more important than ever that the Senate act swiftly on the confirmation for Mr. McWatters’ successor. We look forward to the Senate’s consideration of this matter in the coming days.”
