As a result, Community Choice has recently won Mountain West Credit Union Association’s Credit Union of the Year and the prestigious Dora Maxwell Award.
According to Community Choice Credit Union CEO Rainy Thoen, her credit union has worked with cuStrategies’ President/CEO Celeste Cook for the past two years coaching the staff on various member services and business development strategies, as well as providing a lending program focused on further developing the credit union’s underserved market, while enhancing service to all members.
As for the CSA training, Thoen says she and her staff believe it’s the best service change they have made in 20 years. “This program has helped us to save our members over $600,000 in interest over six months,” she says.
Community Choice submitted this program as a key component to serving its membership to the Mountain West Credit Union Association, resulting in the organization’s Credit Union of the Year win. The credit union also won the Dora Maxwell Award as a result of these member savings.
“These are wonderful honors, but when it is all said and done, the real honor is in how we are fulfilling our vision of people helping people,” Thoen adds. “This program has paid for itself on so many levels. We are making a difference in our member’s lives while creating lasting financial stability for our credit union.”
“We couldn’t be happier and more proud of the team at Community Choice,” states cuStrategies President/CEO Celeste Cook. “They have all worked so hard and are now seeing the rewards of their efforts, becoming an even brighter resource in their community for financial management.
