CUTEK Breaks the 50-Client Milestone of Credit Unions Using its Popular Correio AVS Technology
Financial technology services provider and consultant, CUTEK Inc. has surpassed the 50-client mark of credit unions using its Correio Address Validation Server (AVS) product by signing three more credit unions to use the technology (52 total). Those credit unions include Robins Federal Credit Union ($1.3 billion; 131,880 members; Warner Robins, GA), Technology Federal Credit Union ($1.3 billion; 77,401 members; San Jose, CA), and Georgia Federal Credit Union ($608 million; 84,444 members; Duluth, GA). As a result, each credit union will use Correio for cleaning up their member databases for consistent and accurate addresses.
Correio AVS (http://www.cutek.net/correio.html) harnesses the power of the United States Postal Service (USPS) database of every address nationwide to ensure that credit unions’ member information (addresses) remains as accurate as possible. The product’s real-time, multi-point integration into Symitar’s™ Episys® system allows credit unions to validate and standardize addresses at the point of entry to help reduce fraud and postal costs while at the same time increasing member service and improving efficiencies.
According to Georgia Federal Credit Union Director of Operations, Doreen Blaha, Correio will assist the credit union in keeping accurate addresses in accordance with the US Postal Service records. By having accurate addresses, it will allow for all mailings to arrive to each member in a timely manner. In addition, it will reduce the quantity of returned mail the credit union receives on a regular basis as well as reduce expenses for mailings.
“We thought Correio would help our members and staff,” Blaha says. “Our front line staff find it beneficial in that they type fewer key strokes and it auto populates fields for them.” Correio will also help with validating addresses for fraud and FACTA Red Flags compliance, she adds.
“Staying in contact with our members is important to our credit union,” she says. “We communicate important information on a regular basis – whether it is their statement, notice of their Required Minimum Distribution for their IRA, or the latest marketing message. Corrieo will allow us to have the accurate address information before the mailings are sent to our members.”
According to Robins Federal Credit Union Support Services Manager, Betsy Ford, her goal for the members’ addresses was to comply with the postal system database, reduce errors and returned mail, and to combat fraud.
“We implemented Correio to correctly standardize all of our members’ addresses in our database, while, at the same time, reduce the amount of returned mail,” Ford adds.
Ford sees the technology mitigating incorrect addresses that in turn lead to a high percentage of returned mail. Correio assists with making sure addresses are correct in conjunction with the postal system database. As a result, the credit union can save on postage as it detects incorrect addresses before mail is sent. In addition, it will give them the opportunity to catch a fraudulent address.
