Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union (Cy-Fair FCU) is excited to announce that Barbara Ramirez of Birkes Elementary, received this year’s Cy- Fair FCU giveaway. Ramirez has the option to choose from either driving a new lease vehicle for three (3) years or apply a $20,000 credit from Cy-Fair FCU toward the purchase of a New Vehicle at Northwest Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. Cy-Fair FCU presented Ramirez with the surprise award during Tuesdays night’s Cy-Fair Education Foundation (CFEF) Salute to the Stars gala.
“Barb is an outstanding example of a dedicated and a passionate professional who ensures the success of all students,” said Stacie Everson, Birkes Elementary School principal. “She builds confidence and instills a love of learning in each of her students."
The annual event, underwritten by Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, celebrates the contributions of all Cy-Fair Independent School District educators and recognizes the top teachers, para-educators and support personnel from across the district. CFISD principals selected more than 90 “Spotlight Honorees” for their outstanding dedication to students and incredible work in CFISD schools. During the Salute to the Stars gala, honorees were entered into Cy-Fair FCU’s New Car Giveaway.
“Teachers are heroes without capes. They pour endless hours and energy into our children, often giving of their own personal time and means for the good of another,” said Cy-Fair FCU President and CEO Cameron Dickey. “This car is just one gesture of our gratitude to the incredible educators who selflessly serve our local Cy-Fair kids.”
Started more than 65 years ago by 10 employees of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, Dickey added that Cy-Fair FCU honors that legacy by seeking opportunities to lift the district and community it serves. This commitment directed more than $260,000 worth of financial support into the local community in 2021, with a large portion of that dedicated to supporting local schools, teachers and students.
The annual CFEF Salute to the Stars gala helps to raise funds for college scholarships to graduating seniors in CFISD schools.
