HOUSTON, TX (January 27, 2014) -- Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, a full-service credit union based in southeast Texas, announced that Senior Vice President Brett Wooden has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious THINK prize, awarded to a visionary credit union professional.
The THINK prize is an offshoot of the annual THINK Conference, which was created to foster innovation within the credit union movement. To encourage credit union leaders to develop industry-changing products and services, THINK established a $10,000 award to help a winning business idea become a reality. Wooden was among 25 semifinalists from around the country recently chosen for his idea to create a mobile “edutainment” app that creatively teaches and engages kids about managing money.
“There’s a lot of creativity flowing through the credit union movement right now, so it’s a real honor to be chosen as a semifinalist for one of the industry’s top, new ideas,” said Wooden.
Wooden serves as Cy-Fair’s senior vice president of innovation and marketing and regularly speaks to credit union leaders on integrating emerging consumer technology into core products and services. According to Wooden, “I’m particularly interested in helping credit unions harness the power of mobile apps to transform the way they engage and educate members of all ages.”
Each THINK prize semi-finalist has submitted a full business plan for the next round of consideration. The winner will be chosen from three finalists.
