Atlanta, GA, January 18, 2012— DATAMATX, a full-service provider of printed and electronic billing solutions has validated compliance with the highest requirements achievable by a service provider for securing customer data based on requirements set forth in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard v2.0.  Full compliance was awarded as the result of onsite assessments and extensive testing performed by an independent certified PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) working under the established PCI DSS requirement standards. By meeting the PCI DSS requirements, DATAMATX ensures that its clients’ customer data is protected at the highest level and saves its customers from having to undertake the costly and time consuming process of obtaining PCI DSS compliance themselves.

PCI DSS is a globally instituted security standard created in part by five founding global payment brands – American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa Inc. to facilitate the broad adoption of a set of well defined and consistent data security measures to protect sensitive customer payment card data and reduce data related fraud. The rigid standard includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures.  To meet the rigorous requirements of PCI DSS certification, DATAMATX demonstrated full compliance with the standard in the payment processing cycle, including the storage, processing, and transmittal of payment card data.

“Increasingly, consumers want to pay their bills electronically. It is incumbent on merchants and others who obtain payment card information to ensure that this sensitive customer data is secure,” said Harry Stephens, president and CEO of DATAMATX.  “Because DATAMATX’s state of the art facilities, software and processes meet the stringent requirements of PCI DSS, our clients and their customers can rest assured that customer data and information is secure and protected.”
