Day Air Credit Union is proud to announce Barrett LeMaster and Chelsea Back as the recipients of the 2025 Bettina L. Buscemi Memorial Scholarship. This annual scholarship honors the legacy of Bettina L. Buscemi, a long-time Day Air associate remembered for her dedication to community service and education. The scholarship supports local students pursuing higher education who demonstrate commitment to both academic excellence and community involvement.
Barrett LeMaster, a senior at Centerville High School, will be attending Miami University in the Fall, where he plans to study Accounting. A National Honor Society inductee and two-time recipient of the Tech Prep Excellence Award in the Business program, Barrett also runs his own landscaping business. Beyond his academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, he has accumulated over 125 hours of community service and has been actively involved in numerous volunteer efforts throughout high school.
Chelsea Back, a University of Dayton student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, recently completed her freshman year. A graduate of Fairmont High School, Chelsea earned an honors diploma cum laude and was recognized as a GWOC Scholar Athlete. During high school, she participated in cross country, track and field, and cheerleading, and served as Junior Assistant Cheerleading
Coach – demonstrating dedication to both athletics and mentorship.
